    Melissa was born in a small town called Lexington, TN. She was shy as a young girl, but she loved singing behind closed doors. As a child, God gave her a vision of singing in front of millions of people, just on her family front porch. She didn’t start to sing in public until middle school, where she sang a lot of leads in her school choir. She sang in school through her middle and high school years and in high school was voted the most likely to successes in music. In 1996, she joined her brother in North Carolina where he was a part of a music group OHE “On Higher Elevation”. In this group, this is where she met her now husband Johnathan Bratcher AKA Damesenga. Years later the group split and she joined her husband’s production Hokeworld. She began to go from circular pop/R&B that moved the body to inspirational music that moved people’s spirit.
