Set For April 8, 2025, the fan-voted celebration of Christian music will include celebrity appearances, exclusive performances, and top-tier production
I AM HIP HOP Beezy Africa was born Tapiwa Batsirai Gwatidzo in 1985 and his musical journey began as a dancer in high school before spearheading "the basement" freestyle sessions at the prestigious St Faith's High School in Rusape. He went on to link up with Zim Hip Hop Awards nominated producer Mr Noxa who has become a long time collaborator and friend. "Aona Kunaka" was the first single to hit the reverbnation charts and feature on the Xbcjumpoff podcasts as well as gaining much airplay on Afrozimradio. He went on to release an underground singles mixtape labeled “Mota Yemawaya” featuring the 2006 underground collaboration of the year as the title track. The track went on to be recognised as the most influential underground single of 2006-2007 as it highlighted the harsh economic environment present in Zimbabwe during that period.2010 saw Beezy Africa who had rebranded from his former moniker Tapiwa Batsirai, join the ranks of Angel Voice Records where he recorded the hit album Urban Testimony. The track Adam and Eve went on to receive much critical acclaim and the accompanying video rated on local and regional TV stations while producing respectable numbers on youtube. A lot is expected from the focused young man whose energetic onstage performances and trademark swagger draws crowds to listen to his inspirational lyrics. His new single N.O.A.H featuring longtime collaborator Mr Noxa is set to scale even higher than previous successes.
