Adult contemporary vocalist Eamonn McCrystal's life's work is the human condition. As an acclaimed traditional pop artist, radio personality, and television show host, what ties his career threads together is conveying our struggles and victories with compassion and sincerity.
Eamonn is now on the precipice of a new era of expanded visibility as a storyteller. In early 2014, he will launch his streaming based channel, The Eamonn McCrystal Network then later in the year you can hear Eamonn perform on the soundtrack (and appear on screen) alongside Whoopi Goldberg, Ashley Judd and Patrick Wilson in the motion picture, Big Stone Gap.
Irish-born McCrystal made his debut at age 9, dazzling European music insiders with the purity of his voice and the depth of emotionality inherent in his phrasing. In Ireland, he recorded his debut at age 13, and 4 more albums back home before moving to LA--where he currently resides--and beginning a new chapter as a seasoned professional.
McCrystal has worked with Grammy award-winning producer Kyle Lehning (England Dan & John Ford Coley, Randy Travis), as well as renowned producers Walter Afanasieff (Mariah Carey, Leona Lewis), Guy Roche (Cher, Celine Dion), and Nigel Wright (Andrew Lloyd Webber/Simon Cowell). He's also collaborated with a broad array of esteemed artists, with some highlights such as; singing live with Kristin Chenoweth on New Years Eve and recording the duet "Someone You Never Knew" with Randy Travis. As a performer, he's garnered national and international acclaim. Eamonn has been a musical guest on The Rosie Show, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Network, and performed several times on the on the Grand Ole Opry.
His rich tenor voice, commitment to organic instrumentation, and devotion to putting his distinct stamp on the finest narrative-based songs across diverse genres, has, to his surprise, been recognized in the Country music world, even though he is not a country music singer or sing country music songs. His entrance into this rarefied community initially came when he signed on with manager Elizabeth Travis who breathed new life into McCrystal's artistic journey through helping him establish a career in the United States.
His first holiday album, The Music Of Christmas & The Stories Behind The Songs is a project he is most proud of. The album features 12 cherished Christmas songs produced by Nigel Wright (Andrew Lloyd Webber/Simon Cowell), with each song tastefully embellished with strings and horns to enhance McCrystal's silken tenor. It's not just another Christmas CD - it's a lavish package that also includes a DVD brimming with stunning performance footage and historical insights into the origins of each song plus a fascinating book companion written by best-selling author Ace Collins that delves deep into the stories behind each of the 12 songs.
Next up, McCrystal is expanding his media presence through his new television project, The Eamonn McCrystal Network, an "on-demand" streaming based service. His inaugural program will be the talk show series Eamonn In Person. The show brings together guests from a variety of walks of life to share transformative moments in meaningful and uninhibited ways.
"at heart I'm just a storyteller- whether that be through my music, talking to people on the radio or on TV, in Movies or in text - what matters the most is the story - it doesn't matter what vehicle it comes in" Eamonn McCrystal
