Matt and Jared got to know each other through mutual friends in the local music scene. And, being in a similar head space both mentally and spiritually, eventually decided to write music together. Both agree something “very natural and unforced happened” when they sat down for their first writing session. So natural in fact that at the end of a weekend in a beach house in New Zealand's isolated Ngunguru they had a bunch of new songs in need of a home. It was clear soon after that they already had one…

Has lived the extremes. From growing up in West Auckland, to touring the world, and living and partying hard in LA with international celebrities, off the back of his band Steriogram’s massive worldwide success with ‘Walkie Talkie Man’, to relocating back to West Auckland, New Zealand.
MATT RUYS (VOCALS) Melbourne, Australia
Began his music career in a band with good friend, the late Phil Fuemana (OMC, Urban Pacifica Records), before guesting on records for the likes of Strawpeople, Moana & the Moa Hunters, and Hinewehi Mohi. Signing to EMI, he had a string of pop hits in the mid-90s, collecting the Male Vocalist trophy at the New Zealand Music Awards. He then signed and produced Brooke Fraser's debut album "Arithmetic" assisted Elemeno P in getting an album deal; wrote and produced K’Lee’s debut album; signed Dei Hamo to his HiRUYS label; brought The Bleeders to Universal Music; did a stint of record producing in the United States; and discovered and managed the careers of both Brooke Fraser and Seth Haapu, signing both to Sony Music.
