Jacob Villalobos and Matthew Leon came together as high school students to sing at a weekend retreat for St. Hilary Church in Pico Rivera, CA.  This was the first time the two came together to lead worship.  As they introduced the theme song, "Saint in the Making", they felt an anointing and they knew this would not be the end of their time together.  As time went on, the song continued to gain popularity and requests for them to play retreats, concerts, praise and worship nights were now on demand.  

Today, the Jacob and Matthew Band is a five piece southern California based group that includes singer-songwriter Jacob Villalobos on guitar, singer-songwriter Mathew Leon on lead vocals, singer-songwriter Michael Paul Leon on electric guitar, Michael Debellis on Bass and Lonn Hayes on Drums.  All five share a passion for music and a determination to improve and develop their artistry.

The band brings their cutting edge style as an alternative to modern rock.  We are saying, "That you can praise God and rock out!"  With a strong foundation in Jesus' gospel message of love, the music and lyrics inspire self-reflection.  A tremendous draw amongst youth, their sound inspires a new direction in faith-based music.
