Toni L. Wortherly began acting, public speaking and singing in high school. She had formal theatre training during her first year of college. Then, she set her sights on a more practical career and attended law school at The Florida State University College of Law. Toni graduated with honors and passed the bar in September 2003. Toni has performed the National Anthem for FSU Baseball, the Tallahassee Thunder and the Jacksonville Suns and appeared in A Black Nativity, Mama I Want to Sing, A…My Name is Alice (Pelican Award – Best Production) and The Goodbye Girl (Pelican Award Nominee – Best Actress), Showboat, Hello Dolly! and Dreamgirls. In 2004, Toni was led by God to use her talents and education to write a book. The book, Pray While You’re Prey, is a testimony about what God has taught her concerning relationships, especially, the most important relationship in life, the one with Christ. In later 2004, God shifted her focus from a passion for the arts to a passion for using the arts in lay ministry.
Toni has been the featured speaker at several events. She has also been a guest on the Richard Cuff Weekend Report, and hosted UNMASKED, both of which are radio broadcasts on Gospel 1400. The common thread in Toni’s ministry is that everything relates to the lessons she learns about the relationship that Christ desires with His people. Her goal is to bring God glory by encouraging, inspiring, reaching and teaching, as God leads. Currently, Toni is a full-time teacher at Fletcher High School and enjoys singing with the New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church praise team. She is also the director of the Miss Fletcher Scholarship Pageant. Her newest venture is Elevated Values (elevatedvalues.weebly.com), which is a compilation of all of her skill sets: writing, music, and event planning. She just finished recording the first song for her project, Relationship Advice, called, Worth Dying For.
