The Scurvies are a old school rock and roll punk band that formed in 2003, in Fairbanks, Alaska. In late 2004 they released their debut EP, "Smash", which caught the attention of Boot To Head Records. The following year the label signed the band and began recording their debut album in 2006 and with producer Stephen Pettyjohn capturing the raw, energetic feel that encompassed their live shows. Shortly after finishing up the recording, the band went on their first tours in the continental US, with a west coast tour in Jan-Feb, and a midwest tour in June-July, both in support of their newly released debut full length album, "Nightprowler", which has received favorable reviews from magazines such as Maximum Rocknroll, Razorcake, and HM. In Nov. 2007 The Scurvies hit the road again, with New Jersey labelmates The Filthy 42s supporting. After 2 back to back west-to-east coast circuits and a total of 5 months on the road, the band returned home for a few months, before hitting the road again in June 2008 with Oregon folk punk duo Destroy Nate Allen in 2008, and then took some time off to write material for the next full length. They began the spring of 2009 by opening for The Bouncing Souls, and later getting an invitation to play on the Vans Warped Tour. With new songs and fresh beating hearts (lineup change), The Scurvies are on tour once again and will be recording another album soon."
