Matt Mic is a gritty, honest, lyrically swashbuckling Christian rapper.

Born in Kansas City, Mizzou, Matt was plagued for eons by the creativity many Christian rappers lacked, and some of the overzealous preaching and music he heard after salvation.

Because he believed it was wrong to delve into his own personal pride of lyricism and passion for music, he thought it was only okay to make straight-forward, hardcore, bible verse by bible verse music. After seeking healing, he found it in the form of his first album, "Nightmares & Soundscapes."

The nightmare aspect of the album delves into the pain he went through, and the soundscapes are him rebelling against those faulty concepts. Thus, the album comes out gritty and emotional, even rebellious at times. But the album resonated with so many people, even nonreligious people, that Matt decided to keep it.
