7 DAYS deliver melodic & epic metal in the 1st class and bandleader, guitarist & composer MARKUS SIGFRIDSSON has a very strong line-up in 7 DAYS .
Everything started out as a project in 2004. Markus Sigfridsson thought that he had alot of written songs that was just laying around, and that didn´t fit into the music of his other bands, Harmony and Darkwater. Markus always had a passion for more symphonic and epic hardrock/metal and felt that now was the time to release some of the songs that he had written during 2003 and 2004. First to join the band was ex-bassplayer of Harmony Andreas Olsson (Narnia, Divinefire) who also informed Markus about the great drummer/session drummer Daniel Flores (Mind´s Eye, X-Saviour). Markus sent the songs to Daniel Flores who liked the material and recorded his drums in early 2005. To complete the lineup Markus was introduced to the very talented singer Thomas Vikström (Candlemass, Brazen Abbot, Talk of the Town, Stormwind and more) by Christian Rivel, who later also offered a deal for 7DAYS on his label Rivel Records, and the lineup was complete.
Guests on the album are Caroline Sigfridsson (vocals) on the song “Fall Again”, a strong song in the vein of Within Temptation and Nightwish. The other guest performance is made by Kaspar Dahlqvist, (known for his work in Dionysus, Treasure Land and Stormwind) who plays all keyboard solos on the album. On the album you will also find a heavy version of Swedish doomers Veni Domine great song “Wisdom Calls”. The debut album "The Weight of the World" was produced by Markus Sigfridsson and mixed by Markus Sigfridsson and Göran Werner, and masterd by PLEC at Criteria Mastering. All music/lyrics have been written and composed by Markus Sigfridsson.
