Inspired by God and defined as good music, Dayna Caddell’s first single, Everyday (He’s Good), went to the top of the play list charts in Germany expanding the exceptional singer/songwriter’ s sound abroad. Her current single, WHAT HE’S DONE, a current, catchy, relevant song with a feel-good beat produced by award-winning Warryn Campbell, is rapidly gaining airplay on major stations including XM Satellite and top markets throughout the country making the toughest announcers take notice. Blessed with many talents--she is the co-writer for the 2009 releases for Israel Houghton’s “Every Prayer,” featuring Mary Mary and Ricardo Sanchez’s “At The Cross,” she landed a song in the 2008 Tyler Perry film The Family That Preys, and was selected as a finalist in the 2008 Session-l John Lennon Songwriting contest-- many are taking notice and applauding her exceptional work. While she readies for her Summer 2009 studio project, Overjoyed, a collection of creatively cohesive cuts that encapsulate the album's theme of R&B and inspirational tunes, Dayna Caddell will prove to be an artist who real music lovers appreciate. No padding, no artificial flavoring, just God-given talent and a sincere love for the Lord. As a child she was constantly surrounded by music. Her father, a former recording studio owner, promoter for jazz fusion group “Weather Report,” and road manager to her godfather, the late Latin jazz percussionist Willie Bobo, exposed her to countless jam sessions and concerts that often took place within their home. But what truly encouraged her to belt out that first note were the sounds of Rufus & Chaka Khan blaring throughout her home constantly by her eldest sister Brenda. Before she could recite her ABC’s she was emulating various artists and thoroughly absorbing it all. “I am the product of rock, hip-hop, soul, R&B, jazz and gospel all wrapped up in one. I was blessed to have experienced a variety of music from the day I was born. I exude music. It’s so much of who I am!” Her versatility afforded her the opportunity to record background vocals for Diana Ross for a Super Bowl celebration, and appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno singing background for pop artist Bisou Phillips. She’s worked with, Grammy Award®-winning producers Warryn Campbell and Aaron Lindsey, Grammy® award-nominee Eric Dawkins, and has collaborated on various projects with producer Vann Clayton.
