Altered is a modern gospel mission that reaches beyond the expected limits of music. They are a group of believers who glorify God with their musical gifts and reach out to young people with worship leadership and real relationships. These relationships provide opportunities to witness and testify to those around them in meaningful ways. Having performed across the Southeast with a focus on youth camps for the last seven years, the four members of the group bring their diverse life experiences into focus with thought provoking and inspiring lyrics, and passionate music. “We want people from any and every walk of life to be able to identify with us through the music we create and perform. But we deeply believe that the purpose of our mission is to create opportunities for Godly friendships that encourage and build up believers of all ages.” Accolades and praises from parents and youth leaders echo the heartbeat of Altered. Young people from all backgrounds find acceptance and friendship at all Altered events, which translates into meaningful and uninhibited participation in passionate worship of the Almighty God. Altered recently recorded their third full-length album at the request of world-renowned Ardent Studio’s executives John Fry, Jody Stephens, and Dana Key (former front-man of DeGarmo & Key). The band’s goal with its latest project was to create a tangible and lasting source of encouragement that people can keep beyond the experience of the live show. Working with Jason Latshaw, one of modern Christian music’s most dynamic producer/engineers (Todd Agnew, Skillet, Brother’s Keeper, Big Tent Revival), the individual members of the band pushed beyond their normal expectations of their own abilities to capture performances that would inspire listeners on multiple levels. The result is a collection of pure and passionate modern Gospel music with strong overtones of Memphis-bred rock and roll. An uncommon use of skill and sensitivity allows Altered to reflect the universal goals of music ministry. But for Altered, the most important issue is connecting relationally with a body of Christ-followers to join in worship and lift up the name of Jesus Christ.
