The River Empires is an Americana/Folk Rock band which was formed by Jessy Ribordy and Josh Shroy (both of Falling Up) and Casey Crescenzo (of The Deer Hunter). The River Empire's debut album, Epilogue, was independently released on April 6, 2010. The band's style mixes several unique elements, such as Americana, Folk Rock, Bluegrass and Experimental Rock, as well as multiple tracks being solely comprised of instrumentals.
The River Empires (often abbreviated as TRE) is intended to be a seven-part musical landscape, with each album being released in a reverse-chronological order. (Thus meaning that their debut album is the last one in the series.) The reasoning behind this is that there is a screenplay in the works for these albums, with three separate films originally being planned, with rumor of it instead becoming a television series.
The band released a single entitled "Five Circles" on February 20th, 2012.
Their sophomore album, Mars/Brighton II, is currently slated for a release in late 2012.
