30 Coin Ransom originates from Houston Texas and is slowly becoming a household name in the Texas music scene. Their first music release "On The Sparrow", an EP of six songs, was released February 28th 2007.

THE NAME - The unique name comes from a story in the bible involving Judas's betrayal of Jesus. "Then one of the Twelve the one called Judas Iscariot went to the chief priests and asked, "What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?" So they counted out for him thirty silver coins. From then on Judas watched for an opportunity to hand him over." Matthew 26:14-16. We feel that everyone has Judas moments in their lives. Moments where we choose the superficial offerings and glory of the world over our very Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is a very real battle; especially considering the unique and constant challenges that kids, teens, college students, and adults face today. We too, have had our Judas moments and feel that it is important to learn from and remember how God is faithful to us even in those times.

THE GOAL - The goal of our music is to create music from our hearts and experiences that attempt to reach people of all spiritual walks, with hopes that they may strive to have a deeper relationship with Christ. We believe that God has given us experiences in our lives that, through sharing them, can help and encourage people. We view our music as a ministry as well as God inspired. If we can relate to even one person through the stories and meanings behind our lyrics and songs, then we feel that we have succeeded.
