Wow.....just wow. Even so| Posted May 09, 2011
We all have our opinions on music and syles but as far as the album it self goes, its a stellar. This was Kirk's debut album and was one of his greatest albums to date. The lead song "The reason why I sing" was on the Billboard for a LONG time back in 93'. Its such a great song expressing the true love, and passion we have for Jesus. (This song was also added added in "WoW Gospel Essentials 2" in 2008. Other great songs like "He's Able" and "He can handle it" Not to mention a tear bringing song "Silver and gold" Not only is this album a great worship album, it was THE album that changed Gospel music. (Well...we did have other changers such as Hezekiah Walker and John P kee and Fred Hammond etc...but you know :P) This brought more attention to the Hip-hop gospel generation. It brought ear to the youth, and therefor Gospel music has been shifted to where everybody can listen to it and be blessed. 5/5 for the album I say for classic albums.
(....and no its not odd in general to here Jesus being called "Lordy". Well to some people lol :P African Americans, such as my self, have always had a differnt dialect. Lordy could just be another, personal, African version of saying Lord. It sno differnt from a Caucasian Amercian saying "Duuuuude" :) which I have no problem with it sicne I appreicate every race and form of Christian music :)

This is truly a classic gospel release for Kirk Franklin. I remember working in a Christian bookstore during the time this album was released and it was a consistent top seller. It's still a little odd to hear God be referred to as "Lordy", but I really do appreciate the strong worshipful focus on God in this release. Worth checking out for anyone who likes gospel music.
