"Hero", our second project is a culmination of 9 months of writing and recording. When we set out to record this project, we didn't want it to be just a "worship" album. While the project does contain some "worship" tracks, it's more about sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with music to which people, young and old, can relate.
The music, which is all composed by guitarists Taz Turner and Scott Smith, is all guitar driven. The CD, as the title implies, is all about Jesus, our hero. While tracks such as God of Me, Hero, Give Him One Reason, Jesus Is His Name, and Why Me? relate directly to the heroic sacrifice that Christ made for us, other tracks focus more on the human side of our spirit. Where are you now? reminds us how we need to be a witness to our friends and family so that we won't ever have to wonder about their eternal destiny. The track entitled I Am, penned by Scott Smith, is a song written from the perspective of God to us. The project also includes a remake of an older Vineyard Worship tune entitled, Pour Out My Heart, which Floodgate has remade with with a distinct southern flair.
Hero is a great project for anyone who loves a guitar-driven rock sound with a touch of southern rock and extremely powerful messages.
