Ilia is an up and coming band hailing from Arkansas by way of Tennessee. This group of 5 college-graduates is pursuing their music full-time with a zealous passion that mirrors the aggressiveness of their blend of positive hard rock and metal-core. For those unfamiliar with the band, imagine Flyleaf’s musical edginess coupled with Emery’s vocal acrobatics all wrapped up in the Barlow Girls’ positive representation.
It’s difficult to draw definitive conclusions from three tracks, but if Ilia’s EP is any indication, this band has a bright future. The songs are tight, brash, relevant and beyond musically solid. It can be stated simply that this band of 5 females can rock with the best of the “big boys”!
Fans who enjoy the edgier sounds of female-fronted bands like Flyleaf, FireFlight, Evanescence and Jael should find a more-than-satisfactory musical fix in newcomer Ilia. Catch these maids of metal this summer at any of the major music festival or one of their other numerous tour dates (see Ilia Music. ).
