“Who U Know” is really personal for me. It’s one of those records where I’m just being honest about where I’ve been and who I’m becoming. I made it during a time where I was really reflecting and stepping fully into my purpose not just as an artist, but as a person of faith.
For the first time, I’m opening up about parts of my past I didn’t always talk about, like being involved in gang life, and what it actually took for me to walk away from that. That shift wasn’t easy. It was internal, but it also came with a lot of outside pressure once I started choosing a different path.
As I was finding my sound and my message, I started feeling that pressure even in music to water down my faith or make it more “acceptable.” And honestly, “Who U Know” came from pushing back on that. It’s me choosing to stand on what I believe, no matter what.
At the core, the song is about loyalty, identity, and purpose. It’s really asking who are you connected to? What do you stand on? What or who will you walk away from?
And are you willing to walk in your purpose without compromising?
This is just the start of everything God’s doing in me. I’m stepping into a space where I’m sharing my story more openly, both in my music and in who I am.
