If you've been tracking along with me over the last year you'll know my family and I had our house devastated by a house fire.
I remember going to church that Sunday and we were singing Goodness of God - a song I've sung hundreds of times and led many times. I suddenly found myself in that moment unable to sing and in the midst of what had happened that week I asked myself “is God still good?”
We're great at saying “I got the job - God is good” or “we got the house - God is good” or “my kids got the grades they needed - God is good." But what about when those things don't happen? We're not quite as quick to say “the house fell through - God is good” or “I didn't get the job - God is good.”
And this song is my journey of discovering God's goodness in a whole new way - it's not based on situations or circumstances - it's an absolute - GOD IS GOOD!
