Touching the hearts of all who hunger for more of God | Posted June 04, 2025
There are times in life when words fall short, when language isn't able to capture the depths of our cry for God. “Tongues of Fire” was created in one of those moments.
Vel Colins found himself in the quiet of his prayer room during a season of intense spiritual hunger. He had been seeking God, not just His blessings, but His presence. Surrounded by silence, he whispered a simple prayer: “Lord, fill me afresh.” What followed was more than inspiration; it was impartation.
As he worshiped, he felt a rush of divine energy, like wind and flame colliding in the spirit. Scriptures flooded his mind: “And there appeared to them tongues as of fire…” (Acts 2:3). It was as if heaven was reminding him that the power of the early Church—boldness, healing, miracles—was still available today through the Holy Spirit.
Out of that encounter came a song, “Tongues of Fire”, a cry for revival, a sound of surrender, and a call for the Spirit to fall afresh. The melody, raw and urgent, mirrors the power of Pentecost. The lyrics are not just poetic—they’re prophetic.
Vel Colins didn’t write this song to impress. He released it to ignite, to stir up gifts, awaken hearts, and usher listeners into a deeper encounter with the fire of God.
This is more than music. This is a movement.
Welcome to the sound of awakening.
Welcome to “Tongues of Fire.”
