Although it wasn't until the release of The Beautiful Letdown over two years ago that the band exploded into the mainstream, Switchfoot has been making quality alternative rock for over eight years. Now with a few successful radio singles and a multi-platinum record under their belt, the San Diego trio-turned-quintet returns with Nothing Is Sound. The spotlight heat is on the guys hotter than ever as their Christian fans wonder if the band has sold out, while mainstream fans just want another batch of hit singles. Stacks of questions have been proposed and Nothing Is Sound is the answer.
Nothing Is Sound is a sonically rich album that fits nicely among the band's impressive discography, offering fans something new, but keeping it very much Switchfoot from start to finish. Whether or not the mainstream continues to embrace the band's music, Switchfoot remains to be one of the best bands in today's current music scene.

This CD, in my opinion, is way better than The Beautiful Letdown. I havn't made up my mind if it's better than Oh, Gravity! though. all I know is i really love this album. My favorite songs are "Happy is a Yuppie Word", "The Shadow Proves the Sunshine", and "Lonely Nation". They're amazing.

I love this album so much! I love all the songs and the nice tune they have. Lonely Nation is especially my favorite. No other song on this album can top it. Politicians is another favorite of mine. I love the way they rock out on the song. Stars and We Are One Tonight are next. Stars, I have heard some on the radion but We Are One Tonight I'm just getting used to. Golden and Daisy are next on my top six. They have the nice calming acoustic guitar and very little drums. Daisy almost put me to sleep because it was so calming.
For the end of my review all I can say, get this album it is sooo awesome!!! Switchfoot rocks!
I Feel Depressed Now| Posted January 28, 2008
After listening to this follow up album I feel depressed. I don't know why but the way the album sounds makes it feel like Switchfoot can't take all the fame they are getting. But there are a couple of great songs on this album.
The other one| Posted January 02, 2008
Switchfoot's sophmore album with Columbia Records, Nothing is Sound. hmm.....its actually pretty good. Though nothing like the last album, beautiful letdown. It was a good follow-up with songs like stars, lonely nation, and we are one tonight. But a bit disappointment. I guess the beautiful letdown was soooooooooo good, that nothing is sound was as good. But jon foreman and the band still does beautifully.
