Hawk Nelson Is My Friend [edit]
by Hawk Nelson | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: April 01, 2008

Since 2004, music lovers have enjoyed a real camaraderie with rising pop-punk band Hawk Nelson, helping the quartet sell nearly half a million albums, land personal appearances on major television and motion picture projects, and gain high-profile song placement ("Bring 'Em Out") with NBC's NFL Sunday Night Football campaign. "Going into this record, we sat down and thought about how we've always had this mentality of not so much winning fans as making friends," says frontman Jason Dunn. "We want to be clear that we're all about being on the same level as the audience." Now the true bond of friendship between the group and others continues to strengthen, mature, and be more overtly celebrated than even before with the Ontario-originated act's third Tooth & Nail release, Hawk Nelson Is My Friend. For all of their adventures and successes thus far, the members of Hawk Nelson still see themselves as "four guys just trying to make it," says Dunn. "We'll always be working toward that, trying to be THE band and write the best songs possible." Hawk Nelson Is My Friend most definitely lives up to that goal.

Hawk Nelson is my Friend | Posted June 09, 2008
Not extremely happy with the new CD. But it was basically exactly what I expected. There's nothing really different here from the last CD. The songs are still catchy and fun to listen to, but it's not unique, and the lyrics aren't great. I did enjoy a lot of the songs, but overall it's nothing special.

Hawk Nelson just gets better and better... | Posted May 12, 2008
I am pleased to say that the boys of Hawk Nelson just keep getting better and better with each project the put out. If you havnt bought the new album, "Hawk Nelson Is My Friend", I would recommend you doing so. While I love the album, "Smile, Its The End Of The World", the lyrics on the newwer album have matured quite a bit!
I love HN!

new hawk nelson cd | Posted May 03, 2008
first off, i want to say i liked the cd. the band seems like they've really gotten alot better since their earlier days, and there are a few catchy songs on here. the best one is "friend like that" , then "let's dance". some of the other ones are good too like "ancient history" and "just like me", which doesnt leave once it gets stuck in your head. but overall, a solid album. looking forward to the next one already =)

Good but not best! | Posted April 19, 2008
I was really excited about this new album to come out cuz it had been awhile since their last one, but i don't like as many of the songs as I did on their last album, I do love 'You have what i need', 'turn it on', 'just like me', and my all time fave is definitely 'ancient history'! I don't think I will ever get tired of the song it is awesome! Great beat! :)

I'll always love Hawk Nelson but this cd is so...different than the others. I only like a few of the songs. And even the ones I like I get tired of fast cuz this cd often seems to be alot of noise. I love the music video to "Friend Like That" :D I think they lost their punk edge and got alot rockier. I like it...but then again I don't

My favorite Hawk Nelson album | Posted April 14, 2008
This is my favorite album to come out in awhile. Hawk Nelson seems to have matured somewhat with this album. While on "Smile It's the End of the World" some of the songs seemed to be kind of pointless, (not that I disliked those songs) "Hawk Nelson is my Friend" has song after song with really great meaning. Musically this album is superb. I recommend the Special Edition of this album, as it has a couple of cool accoustic tracks (One Little Miracle featuring Amy Grant and Friend Like That).

They've done it again!! | Posted April 08, 2008
With this third release the band has brought something totally new to the table. You will still hear the same great Hawk sound but the lyrics are exceptionally astounding on this record. With tracks like "Dance on", "Somebody Else: and "I still miss you" it is evident the maturity and time that went into the writing of this album. The drums are also extra cool as well if you foucus on the, during a few of the songs he just takes it too a whole new level. This album certinly exceded my expectations, it is wonderful and any Hawk Nelson Fan would agree.

Hawk Nelson is so totally my friend after this! | Posted April 04, 2008
Hawk's back with 12 brand spankin' new rockin' tracks. At first the album title is kind of weird but don't judge an album just by it's name. The 12 songs that are found here have just as much energy as their past albums. Also the most interesting thing about the album is the "booklet." It's not really an album booklet at all. It's a board game. I haven't had a chance to play it yet but it does look fun. (BTW: the actual CD is the wheel for the board game.) If you have been unsure about this band then take a listen to this album and I garantee that Hawk Nelson will soon become your best friend.
