Decent Album | Posted June 01, 2009
When I was out and about today, I stopped at the local Christian book store, and found that this album was on sale for 50% off, so I decided to pick it up and give it a listen. I have loved their hit worship song "God of This City" since I first heard it a few weeks ago.

The CD starts off with a overly long intro into Life's Noise, nearly surpassing the two minute mark, possibly the longest intro I have ever heard to a song. This song I was not to crazy about, It seemed to be to long for the amount of lyrics that there is. It does have a catchy beat to it but not good enough to keep me interested.

The second song of the album is Burn Me Up. This song was a little bit more upbeat and I thought had a really great message and showed the passion of Bluetree. The chorus goes "Burn Me Up, Until All that's seen is you" and that to me just shows how they are not out to get the glory, but to glorify God.

The next two songs are really great worship songs that I could see churches across the world singing on Sunday Mornings.

The fifth song is God of This City. This song is just amazing, the story behind how they wrote it is just incredible. This song really just speaks the plain and simple truth of God throughout the verses, saying that he is the God of this city, the King of these people, the Lord of the nations. And then the Chorus just shows again their passion, that they are praying that there is greater things yet to be done in our city's.

Each Day is just a wonderful song of praise about how God is always there for us, even in the trials and storms of life, God is always there for us when we need him, and he deserves our praises always.

I was surprised when I saw When I Survey on the track listing. This has always been one of my favorite songs and I think they did a really amazing version of it. The piano in the beginning and just the soft vocals really helps to enter into a great time of worship. I love how they progressivly get faster and more upbeat throughout the verses until the fourth verse where they just explode just belching out their praise to God.

The next few songs really talk about the characteristics and power of Jesus. With a nice little tune in Oh My God just expressing his love for Jesus. River talks about how God is not done with us yet, that God is still moving throughout the earth using those who are willing to be used by him. There is a river of Love, a river of Grace, and everyone is invited to swim. Who has Held? is a really nice slow song talking about the power of God, who has held the waters in his hand, weighed each grain of sand, and set the sun into place. This song really helps me realize all that God has done for us and is a really good worship song.

The album picks up again with Your Love which is another great worship song about how powerful his Love and Grace is. It is so powerful that it brings us to our knees in times of worship and when we realize just how powerful it is.

They finish off the album with Standing Out For You which is a really energetic, up beat prayer of them wanting their lives to be a light to the world, and how honored they are that God would let them stand up for him and call themselves Christians.

Overall I feel that this is a really well put together album of great Worship songs and really catchy tunes. I did find that some of the songs were quite lengthy and just seemed like they were dragging on in the last 2 minutes, but I would recommend anyone buying this, especially if you can get it for $9 like I did :)
