GRAMMY-nominated and multi-Dove Award Winning worship leader Kari Jobe will be releasing her first new album after three years with the release of The Blessing (Live) on October 23rd (Capitol CMG).
"Recording this album live without an audience was something I wrestled with, but I really felt God say to keep moving forward," shares Kari Jobe. "I felt like if I waited, I would be disobeying the Lord. I'm trusting that these songs are meant to release hope right now in this uncertain season. When I was working on this new album, I wanted to think about the church - little did I know that I would have to have the 'church' in my heart when I recorded a live album as well."
"We need Jesus, we need His presence," Jobe explains. "Thankfully, His presence goes with us wherever we go. We can access Him anywhere we are. My heart is that people would experience that in every moment of this album. That they would be drawn to the heart of the Father who loves them."

Heaven Invade| Posted October 16, 2020 What You Need To Know Kari Jobe is a beloved and respected worship leader in the Christian music community, accumulating both GRAMMY nominations and Dove Awards. She carries excellence in vocal ability and, most importantly, in her ability to minister to God and people through her worship music. After three years, Kari is back with a new solo worship album, The Blessing (Live), recorded live at The Belonging Co, her home church in Nashville.
What It Sounds Like The album opens strong with "Heaven Invade," an uptempo song with pounding drums, crying out for God's presence. Showcasing both anthems and ballads, The Blessing (Live) combines the modern sound of worship music ("Let The Light In") with soul-stirring encounters with God's presence. "Rest" ends the album with a beautiful instrumental moment, featuring strings and electric guitar--perfect for quiet worship and reflection. "Embers" is a standout spontaneous moment on the record that follows the lead single, "First Love." Jobe's husband and fellow worship leader, Cody Carnes, is featured on a cover of Jesus Culture's "Obsession," as well as on a new recording of "The Blessing."
Spiritual/Lyrical Highlights "Let The Light In" pulls language from Psalm 22:3 (NLT), which says, "Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel." The song reminds us that God's presence inhabits our praise, allowing us to celebrate who He is and experience His closeness: "Fling wide heavenly gate/Let the King of glory in, let the King of glory in/Come ride in on Your people's praise/Let the King of glory in, let the King of glory in."
Best Song On The Record "Your Nature" is a powerful moment on the record that you won't want to miss. Throughout the verses and chorus, the lyrics declare to God his nature to bring life to dead places and to restore, but there's something particularly special about the bridge of the song. The lyrics shift and the song soars, as Kari starts declaring truth over our own hearts, calling us to believe in the power of God's restoration in our lives in light of who He is.
Final Word I've been a fan of Kari Jobe for a long time. And, I was immediately hooked from the first note of The Blessing (Live). It's quickly become one of my favorite worship releases this year. I think it will be one of yours, too.
