BLOOM is Maame Afon’s fourth project, following the release of Rise (2012, 12 songs), Ekome (2014, 5 songs) and Olorun To Da Awon (2015, single). In typical Maame Afon fashion, you get a fusion of sounds and passion that reflect the diversity of her life’s experiences. The songs on Bloom range from the solemn and powerful Amen, a take on the Lord’s Prayer, to the buoyant reggae piece Look Up To You.
As Maame puts it, “In 2012, we began a journey of faith to share our music. 5 years on, we know it was the right decision. On this journey, you, our supporters and collaborators, have taught us a lot. God has faithfully kept the vision alive. We are better. We are more resilient. In humility and with a grateful heart, we say thanks for being part of our lives. As you enjoy the songs on this project, our prayer is that in all your works, you will BLOOM!”
