Jars of Clay and Tappedinto.com welcome you to Front Yard Luge.
In early 1999, Jars of Clay spent two weeks brainstorming and song writing in Decorah, Iowa. A fresh snowfall led to the title of this CD, as the band moved activities into the front yard of the secluded studio and built a mini luge track in the snow. While this creative detour didn't initially seem to help the recording process, it did seem to lead to the more upbeat, adventurous sound on the newest CD, If I Left the Zoo... Plus it led to the great title of this exclusive bonus CD!
Jars of Clay have always treated fans to the occasional cover tune in their live shows. Fans have never lacked for surprises when seeing the us live. [Yes, that's what it says.] In addition to two highly requested originals, we've pulled recordings directly from the live soundboard over the last two years to bring you a sample of our favorite cover tunes. From old favorites like "Rose Colored Stained Glass Windows" to current live highlights like "Swingtown", we hope you enjoy this collection of unexpected tunes. As eclectic as a Jars of Clay live show, this limited edition live CD is sure to be loved by all fans. We hope you have as much fun listening as we did gathering.
Welcome to the Front Yard Luge, enjoy the ride!
