Ministry is what defines Casting Crowns. All of the members are still active in local church ministry in spite of the over 200 concert appearances they have made over the last 2 years. Mark Hall, in fact, is still employed as the youth pastor at his home church, although he has had to hire some additional help due to his hectic schedule
"It is the ministry that creates the songs, not the other way around," states Hall. And the same is true for Lifesong, the much-anticipated sophomore release from Casting Crowns. From the anthemic title cut to the moving ballad, "Praise You In the Storm," this new album is once again an unapologetic collection of messages targeting the church.
"All of life is worship. If we're not careful we will 'praise worship' and 'worship praise.' We begin to look at worship as an experience when, in reality, our corporate worship is simply the culmination of the life we should be living all week long. The songs on this new album try to look at what a life of worship looks like. Whether we are called to 'Praise God in this Storm' or simply 'Love Them Like Jesus' we must begin to see all of life as about Him and not us. That is what we want to say to the church this time around."

This is a very good cd. Listeners can relate to the music, the lyrics are meaningful. "Praise You in the Storm" is by far the best track on this cd.

All of the songs of this album are great! My favorite track is "Praise You in this Storm". It's the perfect song to get you through tough times in life.
lifesong review| Posted August 07, 2007
I have had the lifesong record since it came out. I know all the songs by heart and love them all! My favorites are "Praise you in this storm" and "Stained Glass Masquerede". To me these two songs meant the world.
"Praise you in this storm" was extremely powerful. The music is contagious. Especially if your a singer. The climax of the song is one that would make you cry. If you listen to this song and don't feel like you want to pour out to God than I would seriously rethink my relationship with him.
"Stained Glass Masquerede" was also a great song. It deals with one of the biggest problems in the church today. Fake relationships. With God and our brothers and sisters in christ. Awesome music and lyrics.
The best part about this CD is that all the songs are awesome. lyrically and musically. The 2 songs I just reviewed are not even the featured song and title of the album "Lifesong".
Hit After Hit After Hit!| Posted August 06, 2007
This CD is definitely one of my favorites! Casting Crowns returns with songs that lift the soul and focus on everyone's relationship with God.
The title song, "Lifesong," brings a sense of joy and responsibility to the listener with lyrics like "May the words I say and the things I do make my lifesong sing and bring a smile to You." Even more compelling is the song, "Praise You In This Storm," giving the message that we must always praise God when darkness covers our paths in life. Closing off the album with "And Now My Lifesong Sings" gives a completion of the goal put forth in the beginning of this wonderful CD.
I definitely suggest this CD to anyone, though at this time, Casting Crowns is coming out with their NEXT CD, "The Altar and the Door," in just a few weeks! A+ in my book!
An Amazing CD| Posted July 25, 2007
All the songs are wonderful with lots of truths in them. Heard them in concert on their tour for this CD. Every single song is great to blast and sing to.

Every song is worth listening to| Posted July 24, 2007
I have a love for Casting Crowns and each song on "Lifesong" is worth listening to. Their music really delves into the fact that Christians need to not be blind to what is around them and really love people like Jesus would. They are not afraid to be raw and honest. Their song "Set Me Free" has a heavier tone to it but one that really is liberating to hear. This CD glorifies God in each song and is excellent.
I really enjoyed what I have heard| Posted July 22, 2007
I have not heard the entire cd but what I have heard I have enjoyed. I really like "Does anybody hear her". I actually have it as my My Space profile song right now. Hopefully the new cd is as good as the last ones.
