The ABSOLUTE series is one of the most reliable sources for the top songs in the world of worship music. For their 2005 collection, ABSOLUTE MODERN WORSHIP, the makers cast their eye on the cutting edge of the Christian-music universe, gathering together a variety of hits, mostly in the rock vein, along with a few songs available for the first time. The new songs come in the form of three tunes featuring the jam band Big Daddy Weave and/or the teen-pop group BarlowGirl. Together, the two acts open ABSOLUTE MODERN WORSHIP on a high note with the rapturous "You're Worthy of My Praise".
From there, the first disc runs the gamut from the alternative-rock of Sonicflood ("Here I Am to Worship") to the folk-pop of Ginny Owens ("All I Want to Do") to the driving anthems of Lincoln Brewster ("Shout to the Lord"). The second disc continues the eclecticism, ranging from the serenity of Selah ("Wonderful, Merciful Savior") to the jangle of BarlowGirl ("Enough") and the brooding experimentation of Skillet ("How Deep the Father's Love for Us").
