The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by
This book was a lot of fun and a great adventure. I recently got my own copy of the book. The adventure, the storyline, the characters, the analogy, and the lessons all make this book unique and incredible....
The Altar and the Door by Casting Crowns The Altar and the Door by Casting Crowns
I had to add this one to my collection for a reason. It's really good. This band just keeps rolling out hit after hit! I can't wait to see more! I can't choose a favorite to be honest, I like them all,...
The Altar And The Door Live CD/DVD by Casting Crowns The Altar And The Door Live CD/DVD by Casting Crowns
Well, again, it's live so I like the first version better, but those who collect Casting Crowns music, you gotta have this one, too! The songs are still good and again, for live music, it's great! Also...

Coming from a guy who always likes sequels better... I really did like the "feel" of some of these songs better than the originals. Others though, you just can't improve upon!

My compliments to Trudog. The savage remix was better than the first and it still is my favorite of all of his appearances. This was his best piece.

Favorite song: "Get this party started: Ghost Remix". It really sounds good and I actually like both versions.(call me weird, but I actually throw in a disc and its sequel in my stereo and program the remixed versions to play right after the originals. It makes for a really long version that's really cool!)

What a great cd. I have a lot of bittersweet memories this album brings back. One of course was the song "Irene". Wendy dropped out of highschool, got her GED and rasied Andy pretty much on her own until our chance meeting when I ran into her at college. She and I sang and danced to that song(only I replaced "Irene" with "Wendy", lol.) It didn't take long for us to figure out we divorced for a reason, but, man, I got a healthy respect for her and from that I resolved to neven abandon Andy after that.

The other memories are ones of my highschool friends "The Jesus Freaks" as we called ourselves. We let that cd be the background to all of our parties and we made some pretty goofy rewritesand videos of some of 'em. I know one thing, Tobymac has a style that can't be beat(and we really tried)!

The music is really catchy, upbeat. and it has that "smack in the face reality check" we all need from time to time. For me, Tobymac defines God in some amazing ways, and this cd is only the first in his line of awesome music.

I love the way this cd is.It's appropriate for partying, hanging, or talking, and my "Brothers" use a lot of these songs to fing ways to discuss God.

Favorite song? Wow, hard choice, but I'd have to say "Wonderin' Why" because it makes the point clear. God's truth should be made desirable and appealing as possible. Another great song is "In The Air" which really is a great way to motivate yourself to tell others about God, because "I wanna see you there, in the air... do do do do...."

Do you know is another dad to dad smack in the face. I can't make my son a Christian, but I sure can set the example and point the way. I can pray for him daily and try to teach him to do what is right. In the end, hopefully my hard work will pay off!

The only thing most fans don't like is the debut of Truett Mckeehan, aka "Trudog", but hey, can you really blame his dad for giving him a shot? You almost have to applaud the little guy for trying and for a kid his age, he did pretty good!

Oh! Please.......... | Posted December-12-2008
UH.....
first off I read the rules and I have come to this understanding, and if I've misunderstood something, please let me know and I'll correct it immediately.

1. I am allowed to FREELY state my opinion of this cd.

and
2. I am entitled to my opinion and no one else has to agree, but it is my job to TRUELY tell people why I do or DO NOT like this cd.

moving on...
I am warning you now I am going to be VERY VERY VERY BLUNT!

okay, I warned you!
This cd is really bad!!! I will admit I really like Switchfoot and their music, but PLEASE I don'ty even wanna own this cd because the cover itself hurts my testimony.

As an ex-gangster, ex-reberl, and ex-druggie, it would do me no good to talk to my "Brothers" about their skull parafanallia(I know I spelled that wrong!), yet for me to own a "Christian" cd with skulls on the cover and songs about "Keeping company outside the licor store" (Oh! Gravity) Antonio (a current gangster friend) told me "it sounds like they're ready to case the joint not do some Godly thing, and we all know no CHRISTIANS (with an air of sarcasm) don't drink." It's music and cds like this that are tellin ghim faith is a joke and I'm with him on this one!

So, though I really like switchfoot music, and happily own other cds, I would never recommend or own this CD. To me it gives off a hypocritical impression. Now I know ya'll are gonna argue that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but this is a CD.

I'm just saying God should look more inviting and appealing. If God looked just like the other bad stuff out there, people like me and my "brothers" wouldn't have wanted Him. When we want to change, we want something new, not the same old stuff we're leaving behind. That's my personal opinion and I'm sorry if it offends anyone., but I just cannot believe people are trying to offer me the same kind of stuff I'm trying to leave behind! This stuff does not attract me to God it turns me off! Sheesh people!!! I wouldn't hand pout beer and say "Jesus saves".The Bible says if a man is thirsty give him a drink.(but I'm sure it doesn't mean that kind!)

All I'm saying is if you want to reach the lost, give them something different than the stuff that buried 'em. If you have a map that's drawn wrong, you'll never find your way, even if someone gives a new map just like it. Do you know what I mean???

FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and that CD left a bad one with me. (I was furious when a certain radio station started to play "Oh! Gravity" so I complained. I wasn't alone either and they wound up pulling it from their playlist, for good reason. I know the lyrics because I saw a performance of this song on TV and I had the closed captions on! It was appaling!! I ran these lyrics past a few of my teachers and some adults I trusted, too. They felt the same as me. I am now turned off this album and I refuse to hear any more music from it. I hope the guys learn something from this and do a better job next time.

That's my stand and God wants me to hold to it. I also have one other reason and this is for you parents out there... as a parent would you want your child(ren) having music with those kind of graphics an lyrics? I have a young impressionable son to look out for and that CD will not help him any.

WOW Hits 1 | Posted December-12-2008
Wow Hits 1 features a variety of songs from a variety of artists like Casting Crowns, Brandon Heath, Matthew West, Tobymac, Skillet, Steven Curtis Chapman, and Reliant K just to name a few.

For years WOW has brought us great mixes of the latest music from the best artists. My favorite song on this cd has got to be "I'm For You" by Tobymac which I've sung to Anna on several occasions. Another good one is Third Day's "Tunnel" which is an inspiration whenever I hear it to "keep holding on" because I know God's got a plan for my life.Other songs on there are good for church worship such as "So Great" (Michael W. Smith, Isreal Houghton, and Christy Nokels) and Chris Tomlin's "Amazing Grace(My Chains Are Gone)" The best part of this album is that almost every song is relevant to my life.

Another awesome feature is the insert. Although it does not have the lyrics to the songs, all 19 artists have given a couple quick comments and there is a picture of the cd their song is from, so if you like their music you can go get their most recent album! This is a great cd and anyone will like it. I guarantee it's worth owning!
