Garreth is a singer/songwriter and worship leader with LFY Band in Little Falls, Roodepoort. He has a heart for worship and is passionate to see God's people experience an intimate encounter with Jesus. He's been married to his amazing wife, Jackie for 13 years now, and has 2 wonderful kids, Daniel (10) and Zoë (7). He had a personal encounter with God on 10 February 2007 which changed his life forever, experiencing deliverance from addiction, conviction of the sinful life he was living, and had a personal revelation of the Living God. He's since devoted his life to be used by God and dedicates everything He has given back to Him. The passage of scripture which most drives his passion to lead people into an intimate relationship with God is Philipians 3:7-11 NKJV (emphasis added): "But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead." He attended the College for Advanced Christian Education (now Discipleship Training Centre) at Little Falls Christian Centre, which grounded him in the Word of God and prepared him for the ministry God had for him. He was involved in ministry at Krugersdorp West Christian Centre, leading worship as well as providing pastoral care in the church before returning to Little Falls Christian Centre to lead worship with the youth band, LFY Band and get involved in youth ministry, where he's currently serving. He started his musical journey at the age of 10 at the Drakensberg Boys Choir and studied with the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM) and UNISA with voice up to Grade 7 and music theory up to Grade 6. Music's been a big part of his life since. The inspiration for his song writing is mostly born out of moments of prayer or worship, and if the revelation received about God in those moments, which deepen and strengthen his relationship with Jesus, can touch others and draw them closer to God as well, this is the goal. It was with this view that he felt led to start releasing, in the hope that it would draw people into a deeper relationship with Jesus. His musical influences are mainly Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake, and mainstream worship teams Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation Worship and Jesus Culture. He released his first song "Thank You For Choosing the Cross" in January 2022 and followed this with the release of 'Do You Still Love Me' in July 2022.
