Via Music blends an eclectic group of both musicians and musical genres to create a unique sound that captures both its diverse roots and its vision for the pavement of a new "way" by and through worship. Via started out as Pastor Jordan Diepersloot, his wife Jenae, and a handful of young people willing and wanting for a better way of reaching more people with the love of Jesus. Based in Fresno, CA, the young church solidified its mission of seeking out the lost and took on the name Via, the Latin word for "The Way." As Shayne Blaze, the band's lead worship pastor and current drummer became a part of the mission, worship became a huge outlet to do just that. As numbers grew over the next three years, the team was solidified into the eleven members that it is today.
The creativity and unique style of Via drives both its music and its body alike. While worship has always been a great equalizer throughout the history of Via, it's increasingly been recognized as both the desire and need of the body to connect with our Savior and Greatest Love. The band's passion to create a sound that represents both inward and outward listeners is a dream realized over the course of the creation of the album. Honest and genuine worship drives not only the band but the body as a whole.
The heart of the Fresno church overflows through its worship, carrying the hope that the church is not a place that fears, but one that loves. One that doesn't stay stagnant but stays challenged. One that doesn't expect everyone to be the same, but believes that Jesus will meet all of us exactly where we are.
