The Spark exists to bring exuberant, expressive praise to King Jesus and to lead His people into the presence of the living God!
Married couple, Chris and Rosie Marvin, have been leading and writing worship music ever since they graduated from the School of Worship, an extension of their local church Living Light in Kenosha, WI in 2004. Band mates, Mike Berea (bass) and Paul Cooper (synth), joined in the years following and the team continued to write and lead worship at their home church and for city wide events with a collection of local youth groups. By the grace of God, these anthems of praise had a deep and lasting impact on the community, rallying the youth of Kenosha and imparting a desire to encounter the Holy Spirit in worship.
Their sound could be described as a deeply joyful pop-rock that is not afraid of the darker chords and bursting with a wildly happy lead guitar. Every song shouts love, desire, and admiration of Jesus and invites the church to LOVE JESUS LOUD.
Their latest release, ASCENT, was filmed as a full length live album which premiers on Youtube Monday, Jan 24th at 7PM. Written for corporate worship, the team prays these songs will infuse the wider church with powerful praise language that leads to expressive and authentic worship. ASCENT features special guests John Cooper, Korey Cooper, and Jen Ledger, of Skillet, friends and worship leaders Malitta Heiring, Aubrey Moore and Daniel Moore, as well as their church family from Living Light, a part of One Church Ministries.
