Louisiana native Kelly Pease has been "praying" through music since the age of 14. At first she thought the music God was giving her was simply to help her heal from the losses she experienced early in life, including the divorce of her parents and her father's untimely death. But, over time, God revealed to her that the music he was pouring through her was for others as well.
Now, at the age of 22, Kelly shares her music and testimony in churches and conferences across the country. Her songs reflect a true telling of the ups and downs of walking with Christ, including the major themes of God's consistency in an inconsistent world and the call for God's church to be one.
"What I believe God has put on my heart is a call for unity in the church," Kelly says. "I believe there are millions of people in the world who need to be fed. They need to hear about Jesus. They need something to eat. They need to be loved. I think we prevent this from happening when we turn on each other to criticize and point out the flaws in religion. We are all imperfect. We are also all trying to know Jesus and help make Him known. My heart is that we stand on our common ground and try to help each other see that to fruition."
Recently, Kelly signed a recording contract with Beach Street/Reunion Records. Her debut album will release worldwide in the spring of 2008.
