Much like The Narrator in "The Great Divorce", many of us find ourselves looking for a road to some other place. With Conquering The Fear Of Flight, Wavorly leads us through a musical landscape that journeys toward that "other place" we often hope to discover, basing several songs on the C.S. Lewis classic.

Great lyrics.| Posted August 22, 2007
This is Wavorly's debut CD on Flicker records. These guys are from Tupelo, Mississippi. The CD is produced by Rob Graves who produced Red's debut CD. Also Trevor from Thousand Foot Krutch did some songwriting on the CD.
What I like the best about this CD is its lyrics. They have dept in their lyrics for being their first major label CD. Sometimes this is the case because it is the first CD a group has on a major where the lyrics are thought through. Also maybe they didn't have a lot of pressure to release a CD fast with it being their first CD out.
The music is similar to Stellar Kart and Nevertheless. I don't like the lead vocal as much as these other bands.
If you like rock/punk/pop music with deep lyrics check this band out.

This album is amazing!! These guys rock. I love the songs Madmen and Praise and Adore. I'd recommend this album to everybody.
Wow!| Posted July 24, 2007
I was hooked the first time I heard Madmen, and marked my calendar for the release of this album. Upon listening to the full album, it wasn't quite the sound I was expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised nonetheless. Wavorly modernizes the 80's mainstream alternative style (Midnight Oil, Depeche Mode) with a success that very few bands have matched in recent years. This is most notable on Part One, Forgive and Forget, and Tale of the Dragon's Defeat. Time I Understood, Stay With Me, and Endless Day are solid radio-hit contenders, and the short instrumentals inerwoven throughout the album are fresh and different. The only downside is that Wavorly, more often than not, misses the mark when they slow it down- although Praise and Adore shows promise in this area. All in all, a great album from a band that has the talent to produce many more!
