On a rainy June evening, Michael joined nearly 10,000 worshipers including Amy Grant, Shaun Groves, Darwin Hobbs, Greg Long, Cindy Morgan, Phillips, Craig & Dean, Ginny Owens, Chris Rice and Mark Schultz at Carpenter's Home Church in Lakeland, FL to record the album that has been on his heart for over five years.
Leading worship is nothing new to Michael. His songs "Great is the Lord" and "Thy Word" are included in most hymnals, and the Smitty-penned "Agnus Dei" is popular in most modern worship circles. Michael describes how he chose the songs by saying, "It's always been my goal, if I did the record, to pick the twelve songs that just slay you." And that's what he did. From "Let It Rain" to "Heart Of Worship" Michael leads with a sense of humility, shedding all pride. "This is not about me," says Michael. "We did this to worship God."

A fabulous worship album| Posted February 24, 2010
It is not possible to listen to this album just for listen. When the children start to say their prayings, the angels of God invite us to a fantastic journey.
We can feel that in our hearts. It is not possible to ignore that!!!
The Let It Rain, Agnus Dei and Awesome God have a really high play count on my iTunes :)

Michael W smith is one of the best pianists in ccm. That was most likely the most enjoyable part of the album for me. He used a good selection of songs. I really can't pick out a weak track. A much for worship leaders.

I really loved this release from beginning to end. I felt instantly drawn into the music and loved the way it was recorded and the feel of the entire album. It was very worshipful and I love to play it often. The only way to top this release is to get either the dual-disc version (also available) which contains a DVD, or to get the boxed set which fetures this album, the sequel CD "Worship Again" and DVD. Personally I think the boxed set is probalbly the must have set.
Amazing! :D| Posted September 29, 2010
This is truly an amazing worship experience! :D It reminds me so much of the classic hymns, but sounds fresher and newer at the same time! :D Michael W. Smith is quite the worship leader! :D

Michael W. Smith one of my favorite artists releases a worship album that is BORING.
I've been a big fan a Michael W. Smith ever scince his "This is your Time", cd but his Worship album is a slump compared to the rest.
He has an intresting choir that features the legendary Amy Grant, Plus One, Out Of Eden, Phillips, Craig, and Dean, and Chris Rice, but other then the choirs cool lineup of Christian artists and cool songs, but the songs are repitious when it comes to the chorus,
Now let's go to the positive side I give it 1 1/2 stars for a reason, the song "Above All" is and will alwyas be my favorite song.
So Michael W Smith's "Worship" is a must for worship fan but, I'm a man a many taste ( Including Worship ) but this worship album I didn't like.
