Kutless [edit]
by Kutless | Genre: Hard Rock/Metal | Release Date: September 17, 2002

In an era when a lot of Christian rock groups are turning to rap-rock, aping such successful mainstream artists as Linkin Park, Kutless emerges with an album of melodic hard rock. Kutless' mainstream influences are clearly such guitar-heavy yet tuneful groups as Creed and Fuel, and the Christian quartet actually holds up pretty well against their secular counterparts. "Your Touch" is a particular highlight, featuring a wall of guitar muscle and modern rock hooks galore. "Run," meanwhile, is an affecting rock ballad. As one would expect, themes of spirituality crop up throughout. On "Down," a girl wrestles with self-image, while "Again" dwells even more directly on faith with its discussion of God's love. Overall this is a strong debut, and like the Supertones before them, Kutless rises above a lot of the bands in this sometimes-justly maligned genre.

Kutless | Posted August 22, 2007
This cd is the best christian rock cd I have ever heard. The guitars crunch and the bass pounds and the drums tear apart your ears. I would buy this cd again if I lost it or broke. I highly recommend this cd to everyone. This vocals on this cd sent chills up and down my spine. Especially on the chorus of "Vow.

Great Album! | Posted August 22, 2007
This CD is full of amazing rock songs such as Your Touch, Pride Away, and Tonight, and it also has some slower songs like Run. This is a great debut album.

One of my favorite rock CDs. | Posted August 21, 2007
I got this CD back in 2002 when it came out. It is such a great rock CD. The lyrics are genuine and real lyrics. I can tell that they came from the heart.

God used this CD in my life to speak to me about things he was showing me at the time. I'm sure that this is one of the reasons I like the CD so much.

Since this CD Kutless toned it down a bit and I miss hearing them rock out like they did on this CD. Their last studio CD got back to the sound on this CD but still was toned down.

WOW, i'm surprised i'm in the minority here as this album is what turned me on to Kutless when they came out "Your Touch" and "Run" are songs i could listen to daily at work. Some bands i feel you have to see in person to get a real feel for and these guys might be one of them as it was their concert that brought me to purchase this CD and remain a Kutless fan.

Good Start - Not a Very Good Album | Posted August 01, 2007
I review this album with a few more years of wisdom under my belt than when I first bought it. Before I would have declared this one of the best albums ever, but that's what being fourteen can do to you (no offense to all the fourteen year olds on the site).

Not that this album is bad, as the music is well done...but oddly familiar. They are not very original in the least, with all the songs sounding roughly the same. 'Your Touch' and 'Vow' both very good songs, are almost identical in thier intros.

There are some really stand out songs. 'This Time', is a very powerful song about the prodigal son, and it uses the heavier rock sound to its best effect, earnestly crying out 'no walking away!' 'Your Touch' is very catchy, as is the song about an anexoric, 'Down.' And 'Run' is a very, very, good song, easily the best on the album. I really liked 'Grave and Love', but in light of recent songs of the same type, its not as exceptional, but still a very good song.

The rest of the songs will fade form memory. 'Pride Away' is very mediocore, but stands out because of its long rap bridge, which although unique to the album, is not very interesting. The screams at the end are also not a very nice touch. 'Again' is boring, 'In Me' is ok, and 'Saved' is passable. 'Dry' is pretty good song, and has some of the best electric guitar, but, sad to say, that's not much of a compliment.

Overall, if you're looking for some well done, heavy-grunge rock look no further than Kutless' debut. Just don't be surprised if you find yourself mistaking a few songs for the other.

And this is my Second favorite, right under Strong Tower. Good, godly rock band. It's amazing how in tune they are with the God. They're in my top 3 favorite bands. Great album :)
