Pretty good, but not as good as first| Posted September 06, 2007
I have a deep, deep respect for BarlowGirl. They have the most amazing message for teen girls today I wish that every girl could see them in concert just once ( i have had the privilage of seeing them 3 times) and just here what they have to say. They have taking a stand against immodesty, premarrital sex, and other hot topics that plage today's youth.
I have a passion for rock, mostly hard, so I really enjoyed their first album. The second one was Ok, but not my fave. The third... well I was a bit insulted that they would call it a rock album since the main intrument happens to be a violin. Beautiful, moving but puleeze! NOT ROCK! And that is totally Ok, because the sound is not the most important thing about music, it's the lyrics, and the heart of the singer(s), but please don't call it rock, because that's just wrong.
The "Song for the Broken" was so incredible moving and beautiful that I just lost myself in the music. Violins really give me a headache, and a screaming guitar give me pleasue (lol) but the lyrics and the sound of Alyssa Barlow's voice just melted me. The same with "I believe in Love" and "Here's my Life" Just beautiful worship that anyone could get lost in.
"Million Voices" I found to be very encouraging. Sometimes when we look at the trouble in the world and the persicution that Christians are getting we sometimes seem to forget that we are not alone in our battle with the world. We feel so along, like we are the only pine tree in a forest of Palm trees!! Barlow sings "We're a million strong and getting stronger still they'll remember we were here. with a million voices breaking silence till they'll remember we were here." it was very encouraging.
And last but not least, "The Guy Song!" It is a fun, upbeat song that they wrote just for guys! They have seemed to be a band for girls so not wanting to forget about the men in the world they wrote them a song! It's one of my faves now.
The CD is good, and I can see how it will become some people's favorite!
Great cd!| Posted September 06, 2007
i really like this cd!
million voices is probably my favorite song
i don't think it's as good as their 2nd but i still like it a lot!
Rocking and real| Posted August 24, 2007
This album has a bit more of a heavier sound than their first 2 albums which in my opinion is a good thing. It suits them well. The most surprising song musically is One More Round, a jazzy song about spiritual warfare. What makes this album stand out to me is the honesty in the lyrics. The girls are real about the Christian life sometimes being a struggle and not how we think it should be. Their message of hope in the midst of trials is one everyone should hear.
A turn for the better| Posted August 24, 2007
This third release from the Barlow sisters is their best yet. It really shows how strong these three women are in an industry (music in general) that is predominately male. I don't even want to begin to discuss the issue, but it just seems harder for women to make it in the music business. Regardless, Becca, Lauren, and Alyssa are three extremely talented individuals, and it shows from not only this album, but their previous two. This album, however, provides a freshness that the other two lack. The only complaint I have is that they previewed a new song every monday leading up to the album's release. While it's a great way to get fans excited about the album, it hinders the novelty of the album. One thing I like about buying a new cd is exploring each song. When I bought this one and listened to it, there wasn't one song I wasn't familiar with. Don't get me wrong, it's a great album, there just wasn't much mystery left.

BarlowGirl's don't keep silent| Posted August 09, 2007
BarlowGirl's are one of those artists for me that I have followed since the beginning of their career. I love How Can We Be Silent because it is full of so much maturity and growth. BarlowGirl has finally established themselves as a top rock band in Christian music. How Can We Be Silent is full of amazing melodies and even stronger lyrics. Its a little cliche but I can't think of a better band for preteen and teen girls to be listening to. Though this album should easily appeal to any rock fan!
Speechless| Posted August 09, 2007
As a father of two teenage girls and a sponser of the 6th - 8th grade youth group at our church I have alawys liked BarlowGirls for their relevant lyrics and the rock sound is great.
Unfortunatly they have messed with their sound and it has ditracted me from the lyrics and I'm not sure where they we're heading with One More Round, they need to leave the blues to artists like Todd Agnew that have always played that style.
Sorry girls I love you, but I don't love this disc.
