Atlanta-based group Casting Crowns has crafted their driving pop-rock style for more than three years as the worship band for their home church. Catching the attention of key music leaders, Casting Crowns has become the first artist on a new imprint founded by Mark Miller of country super group Sawyer Brown, and the band's self-titled debut is being produced by Miller and multiple Dove Award winner Steven Curtis Chapman. Casting Crowns includes straight-forward lyrics aimed at the church, including "If We Are The Body."

A Solid Debut| Posted February 12, 2008
Casting Crowns is one of the most well known Christian groups of today. Their self-titled debut is a powerful blend of challenging lyrics and solid music. "What If His People Prayed" kick starts the album and has one of my favorite lines in any song what if the people turned to Jesus and stopped asking Oprah what to do. Other thoughtful songs include: "If We Are The Body", "Who Am I", "Voice Of Truth", and "American Dream". The album kind of drops off after that but it is still solid. I recommend this CD who likes to hear music with a strong message.
Great CD by CC| Posted January 23, 2008
Casting Crowns did a spectacular job on their debut album! I respect CC and their music very much.Mark has a way of "hitting the nail on the head".The lyrics to "What if His People Prayed",and "If We are the Body" are AWESOME!Anybody that's a fan of CC would love this album!
My Pesonal Favorite| Posted December 15, 2007
This CD is the most touching, inspiring, and meaningful I have ever heard. I especially liked how it starts with inspiring and convicting songs and then sort of transfers to more of worship kind of songs. Here I Go Again always convicts me and Voice of Truth always reminds me to trust in God and try to focus only on Him.
But my all-time favorite is definately Your Love is Extravagant. It is just such a beautiful, simple and pure song of adoration!
A True Worship Album!| Posted September 22, 2007
Casting Crown's first cd was a big hit, as everyone well knows, for the song "If We are the Body", and for good reason! This song was quickly a favorite, and pastors/youth pastors loved it because the message of the song is so true-we need to be reaching out to others & constantly showing them God's love! The cd opens with "What if his people prayed". I personally love this song-straight from God's word! "Voice of Truth", co-written by Steven Curtis Chapman, was another hit with a lot of substance. "Who Am I" was one of my other favorites, because it is something I can really relate to. Sometimes I feel so small, but God still cares about me-how awesome is that?! I like that almost every song on this cd has such a great message, like "American Dream". I like "Life of Praise" because the girl takes the lead, and she has an amazing voice-this song is probably my second favorite song on the album! The only thing I disklike about this album is the last song, "Your Love is Extravagant" just because this song is kind of old and I had just heard it done too many times-I guess I just thought it was a sort of safe way to end the album...

I don't really care very much for this cd. Their music is totally not my style. When I do listen to it I only listen to "What If His People Prayed" and "American Dream". I do like the celtic musical peice in "Praise You With the Dance" but otherwise this cd sits in my case and is pulled out like once every 2 years.
Awesome!| Posted September 01, 2007
It's amazing that a group of youth leaders have retained their sanity AND can put together a CD like this! This is truly a group to continue watching and I pray they will be around for a long time to come sharing such great insights into real christianity.
