After two Platinum-selling albums (Casting Crowns & Lifesong), two Platinum live projects (Live from Atlanta & Lifesong Live), numerous awards, and one of the most successful headlining tours in our industry, one might expect a different Casting Crowns. Those who meet this exceptional group, however, quickly realize they are still the same down-to-earth people with ministry at the heart of what they do both on the road, and in their local churches where each of the members serve on-staff or as laypeople, including lead singer/songwriter Mark Hall who still holds his post as youth pastor at his home church.
Casting Crowns' third album, The Altar and The Door, draws on this first-hand ministry experience with real people, real life struggle and the faith that overcomes. "At the altar, everything makes sense," says Hall. "When we're in the church and spending time with God, we know what we're supposed to do and how to live. Everything is black and white. But somewhere between the altar and the door, when we leave and go out into our lives, it all leaks out. Everything gets gray again. It's like we have these two lives, and the Christian life is the journey between the altar and door....trying to get the things you've got in your head, into your hands, into your feet, and into your life. This album is all about that journey of realization, the struggles we encounter and the victory of seeing it as possible."
The band is excited about the next ministry chapter to unfold, and is already planning Fall and Spring legs of The Altar and The Door Tour. With the debut radio single hitting in June and widespread media coverage starting late summer through the fall, this album is set to be another phenomenal release setting records and, more importantly, impacting hearts.

Another Great Album| Posted February 12, 2008
Casting Crowns continues to be one of the most popular bands in the CCM industry. Considering every one of their singles have reached number one. My favorite song on the album is the opener "What This World Needs", which calls us to point people to Christ and nothing else. Other good tracks are: "Every Man", "Slow Fade", the number one hit "East To West", "The Word Is Alive", and the great closer "All Because Of Jesus". Another great album from a great band.

I bought the album simply because i have been so strongly moved by the song East to West. What a powerful and extremely moving song! I cannot say enough good things about that song because its simply great!! The album as a whole is good and the songs that stand out for me are Slow Fade,The word is alive, and The altar and the door. It amazes me that they do music part time and mainly work as youth pastors yet they have had tremendous success and this album has been on the top of the charts not just in Christian music but as far as album sales go in general. That is absolutely amazing and so is their music for that matter! They are one of the best bands in Christian music and i know they've got more amazing music to make!
Awesome CD| Posted January 29, 2008
Casting Crowns has always been one of my favorite Christian recording artists, but they really outdid themselves with this one. My favorite song is "East to West" because it reminds me that no matter what else happens in my life,Jesus is right there by my side.
Who doesn't like them| Posted January 29, 2008
Casting crowns has been consistently great and this CD is no exception!
This CD seems to provide hope for every man stuck in any type of sin, each song kind of progresses from What This World Needs, to It's All Because of Jesus. I recommend this CD to everyone, I have every song memorized and I listen to it all the time.
East to west| Posted January 18, 2008
I love the song east to west. It is another song that makes me cry. It speaks to my heart when I listen to the lyrics I stand before you now as i've never sinned but today i feel like I'm just one mistake away from you leaving me this way, Jesus can you show me just how far the east is from the west.

Bridging the Age Gap| Posted January 12, 2008
Casting Crowns has managed to do what few groups have done by successfully bridging the age gap with their music. I love their music and I'm able to listen to it with my grandchildren who like it just as much as I do. My husband calls their songs, musical sermons, and he's right. The lyrics speak frankly about what every believer faces in their life. God has blessed them with talent and given them a message to share and He's blessed all of us with the opportunity to receive that message.
Best Album| Posted January 12, 2008
I love the first two albums by Casting Crowns but so far this is definately their best album. The lyrics from the songs are extremely powerful, as I've come to expect from Casting Crowns. About the only songs I'm not crazy about on this CD are "Prayer For A Friend" and the bonus track "White Dove" just because their not my style.
If you don't have this CD it's definately a must for your CD library.
