While vocals are great, instrumentation is even better, and Serianna delivers. The guitar work is blistering; many of the riffs and leads are extremely reminiscent of August Burns Red. The closest comparison, however, is the drum work. Chris Ferraro is a man’s man behind the drum kit. Everything about his drumming is simply immaculate: cymbal work, the fills, the double bass, it’s all there, and it’s all top notch.
There are breakdowns aplenty to be found here, make no mistake. This band is at their best when they bring the heavy, and this is reflected in the quality of the songs. The tracks “Virtues,” “Cast Away,” and “Revelations” are some of the best on the album, featuring some really great epic moments and a couple really nasty bass drops.
