Old School Hymns For A New School World
Posted January 17, 2012
By Carpenterbil,
Classic hymns such as "Down By The Riverside" and "The Lord's Prayer" are given an awesomely refreshing infusion of Americana and Celtic-like roots rhythms that make them sound novel and very relevant to the day and time in which we live. The spare arrangements, a little banjo here and a loose piano there, allow us to hear Greer's uniquely lean yet emphatic vocal quiver that is well-suited to these creatively inspiring arrangements. This, as a whole project, is one of the best sacred music albums I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. View All Music And Book Reviews By Carpenterbil | View Carpenterbil's Profile
