After 13 years of incredible talent, American Idol is calling it quits in 2016. The widely popular singing competition tweeted the news this morning.
Idol helped propel beloved artists such as Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Mandisa, Chris Sligh, Jason Castro, and Colton Dixon to their successful careers in CCM. The show has produced several faith-based artists over the years, including current season finalist Clark Beckham.
The reality competition is reported being cancelled due to continual declines in viewership numbers. There has been no date set for the 2016 series finale.
