He's made plenty of hits over the years as part of Paul Colman Trio and Newsboys, and Paul Colman is showing he has no intention of slowing down--and fans wouldn't have it any other way.
The Aussie-born pop/rocker today celebrated a
successful IndieGoGo crowd-funding campaign, with supporters meeting his $25,000 benchmark that will yield a brand-new album, titled
Recalculating.
Having left his record label, manager and agent in 2009 to pursue his "own path in the music industry," the
Recalculating campaign is Colman's second crowd-funded project, with 2012's
From the Saltland to the River having been his first. He hasn't yet announced a release date for the new project.
For Colman, while making music is a joy and a strength of his, it's means to an end.
"I realized a while ago that I am more interested in people than music," he wrote on his IndieGoGo campaign page, "it's just that I've found that music gets me to people in a very unique way."
On the campaign page, Colman has
shared regular updates, videos and songs from the forthcoming project. Revealed song titles from
Recalculating include "Shame" and The Second Time Around."
