EP Review: Robert Mauti Posted May 04, 2025 By JJFrancesco_NRT, Staff Reviewer
What You Need To Know Accomplished vocalist and worship leader Robert Mauti steps into the spotlight with the release of his debut EP, Jesus Is All. Mauti has built an exceptional career as a vocalist, worship leader, and music industry professional. With an unconventional background (including attending school in a circus tent) and background vocals for Christian contemporary heavyweights like Matt Maher and Brandon Lake, Mauti is ready to introduce his solo music to the world.
What It Sounds Like Mauti employs some unique and varied musical flourishes to help his work stand out. Songs like the single “Loving You” employ some stringed orchestra backing, while the title track has a distinct Gospel Music flair. Some Latin pop influences are sprinkled throughout, adding character. With slow hymn-like offerings balancing some of the more pop-infused cuts like “Every Step (I Will Go),” there’s a lot of ground covered for an EP. Piano-based hooks pair well with Mauti’s soulful voice that calls to mind the likes of Danny Gokey at times.
Spiritual Highlights Mauti’s background in worship displays well in many of the tracks. “Every Step (I Will Go)” is a rousing anthem that encourages following the Lord's calling with a willing and trusting heart. While the heartfelt worship of the other tracks is on point, it’s here that the lyrics are most convicting and inspiring.
Best Song “Every Step (I Will Go)” finds Mauti’s music coming to life the most. With an infectious chorus and a rousing melody, the song begs to be on your summer playlists. With a slight throwback sound that would feel at home in 1990s Christian music, yet still sounds fresh and contemporary, this is the EP’s standout cut.
Final Word Mauti has crafted a fine introduction to his solo musical ventures. There are multiple highlights worth checking out here that should keep him in the Christian music conversation for a while. Here’s hoping he’s able to seize the potential of this debut and build an enduring body of work in the coming years.
