Amazig album, so relevant to what reality is like | Posted June-01-2013
So, this was the first album I ever purchased from Skillet. There was definitely no disappointment.
Something that really struck me, was that the songs were not about something extraordinary that I was not able to relate to.
Especially when I was in high school, it became one of my favorites. Because of some things that were happening.
God used this album as a blessing. That may sound crazy.....but that's how it has been. And for that I am so thankful.

Powers by John B. Olson | Posted February-12-2013
"Bury me standing. I must be buried standing.”
Powers, the follow-up to John Olson’s Shade ("a must-read for those who enjoy Ted Dekker and Frank Peretti” —Publishers Weekly), introduces a sheltered Gypsy girl named Mariutza. Her grandfather utters a mysterious last request before dying in her arms after being shot by ten cloaked men.
Those same men die before her eyes, but strange powers continue to pursue Mari through the swamps of southern Louisiana where she has always hidden from "the Badness.”
The whole world seems to join in the chase—helicopters, soldiers, government agents, and the police are all trying to kill her. Mari’s only hope of survival is to find Jaazaniah the Prophet, the mythical hero of her grandfather’s bedtime stories. But she has never been outside the swamp or known other humans besides her grandfather and one teacher. How can this lone girl survive the bewildering world of men long enough to find a prophet who might not even exist?
This book was very gripping. There is a great lesson than can be learned from this story.
Will Mari find her find her Saviour.

Shade by John B. Olson | Posted February-12-2013
“You will not fear the terror of the night.” —Psalm 91
A monstrous waking nightmare is pursuing graduate student Hailey Maniates across San Francisco to Golden Gate Park where she is rescued by a towering homeless man. She seems able to read her rescuer’s mind, but is it just a delusion? Doctors diagnose her as a paranoid schizophrenic and attempt to prescribe away her alleged hallucinations. But too many questions remain around Hailey and the man who saved her. He appears to suffer from her same mental condition and is convinced that some type of Gypsy vampire is trying to kill them both.
Against reason, Hailey finds herself more and more attracted to this strange man. But what if he is a fantasy? What if he is the monster?
Was this homeless man Hailley met really just fantasy or a dream?
Are the doctors right, is Hailey really sick?
These were some questions that I encountered reading this book.
After all who is this homeless man for real? Why is he like this?
Find out for yourself, and answer the question.

The Problem Of Pain by C.S. Lewis | Posted February-11-2013
Have you ever asked yourself how to deal with the problem of pain?
Why is there pain? What can we learn from the problem of pain?
If people have hurt you lately, or you've been carrying a lot of pain from the past. This book may answer some questions that come over time.
This was a very good book. Persoally I learned so much while reading this book.
I was supposed to read this book about seven month ago as an optional extra reading for English class, but I never go the chance to read the bookk and do the assignment.
Now I must say, that I should have read the book earlier it would have answered my questions earlier.
Therefore, I recommend this book to anyone that has the time to read something.

Boneman's Daughters by Ted Dekker | Posted February-08-2013
They call him BoneMan, a serial killer who's abducted six young women. He's the perfect father looking for the perfect daughter, and when his victims fail to meet his lofty expectations, he kills them by breaking their bones and leaving them to die.
Intelligence officer Ryan Evans, on the other hand, has lost all hope of ever being the perfect father. His daughter and wife have written him out of their lives.
Everything changes when BoneMan takes Ryan's estranged daughter, Bethany, as his seventh victim. Ryan goes after BoneMan on his own.
But the FBI sees it differently. New evidence points to the suspicion that Ryan is BoneMan. Now the hunter is the hunted, and in the end, only one father will stand
This was a very good read. The message of this story is so touching and true. The dad in the end would not give up until he rescued his daughter. If you think about it's like Jesus coming for your and my rescue.
The story has such a beautiful ending.

Monster by Frank Peretti | Posted February-07-2013
Something's out there...
Reed Shelton organized this survival weekend. Hired the best guide in the region. Meticulously trained, studied, and packed while encouraging his wife, Beck, to do the same. But little did they know that surviving the elements would become the least of their worries. During their first night of camping, an unearthly wail pierces the calm of the forest. Then someone--no, something--emerges from the dense woods and begins pursuing them. Everything that follows is a blur to Reed--except for the unforgettable image of a huge creature carrying his wife into the darkness. Dependant on the efforts of a small town and a band of friends, Reed knows they have little time to find Beck. Even more important, he soon realizes that they aren't the only ones doing the hunting. Something much faster, more relentless--and definitely not human--has begun to hunt them.
This has been a very exciting read.
It was so beautiful when Beck was accepted by the Sasquatches. It was almost like she was one of them. They could not understand her, but they protected her from humans like it was nothing big.
