On October 14, two weeks after the delayed release of Never Land II, Andy Mineo dropped the music video for "Been About It" featuring Lecrae. Initially, this was the controversial track from the album which caused the project to be pushed back from the September 17 original street date to October 1.
The delay issues were tied to clearance issues from the original song owners, one being a well-established producer named Rick Rubin. Rubin was a producer for Beastie Boys and the track "Paul Revere." Therefore, Lecrae had to re-record his feature verse for the song. As for the music video, Mineo and Reach Records decided to use the second version of the track as well as blur out Lecrae's mouth visually enabling the video to be released publicly to the masses.
Before the video's official release, Mineo and Lecrae privately showed fans the unreleased video in Atlanta, and it was shown to VIP fans during the restructured Return to Never Land Tour which kicked off on October 11.
The music video pays homage to some of the most iconic album covers in hip-hop from Dr. Dre, Wu-Tang Cla, Kanye West, Tupac, and many more. The video exhibits Mineo and Lecrae's respect and love for hip-hop and its roots. Since the release of the video on Thursday, the visuals have almost amassed 130,000 views.
