"Compassion International has made the difficult decision to cancel the rest of the Roadshow 2020 Arena Tour in light of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, the latest in a series of blows to Christian music fans as cities nationwide begin to quickly ban large public gatherings.
The tour sent the following letter to ticket holders and posted the news on Facebook today.
"Dear Roadshow Fans, Due to the continued spread of COVID-19, and the questions still surrounding it, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the remaining Roadshow 2020 tour dates. While this was an extremely difficult decision for us, the health and well-being of our attendees, performers, staff, and community is our top priority. All ticket holders will be issued a refund within 7 days. We appreciate your patience as we navigate a large number of refunds. As you can imagine, canceling of a tour like this has significant financial ramifications for Compassion LIVE and Compassion International. One of the goals and highlights of our tours is the thousands of children that are released from poverty in Jesus' name through child sponsorship. We would be grateful if you could prayerfully consider sponsoring a child today at this link: www.compassion.com/theroadshowtour. Sponsoring a child through Compassion is a powerful way to make a difference in the world today. The Roadshow and Compassion International are grateful for your partnership in this ministry. We are continually praying for everyone affected by the virus. Thank you and God Bless."
This follows the cancellation of SXSW In Austin, TX, one of the largest music festivals in the nation in Austin where many CHH artists gather.
This is promising to be just the beginning and we will update as more announcements are made.
We continue to keep all individuals, families, artists, and everyone else impacted by these cancellations in prayer. The Bible has much to say about times of uncertainty and fear and we join all believers in leaning towards God's promises in Scripture.
