Seventh Day Slumber is a long-time veteran in the Christian rock community. They released Closer to Chaos in 2019, marking it as their tenth studio album in total. "Man Down" is their current single, and the band has created a music video for it.
About the song, their Youtube description says:
"Man Down" is a powerful song about PTSD. It gives the listener/viewer a small glimpse into the emotions and thoughts that many who struggle with PTSD experience."
The song is a tribute to the military, whom deal with the lasting physical and emotional trauma of war. "That story is not told enough," Joseph Rojas says. "So many soldiers have said our music not only got them through their deployment, but it's continued to minister to them as they navigate PTSD issues on the home front as well."
A consistent force on Christian rock radio, Dove Award-winning Seventh Day Slumber has sold a combined total of nearly 500,000 units to date, landing two Billboard #1 albums, five #1 singles and 14 Top 10 hits in a career spanning more than 20 years. Joseph Rojas's label, Rockfest Records, celebrated a banner year in 2019 as well, reaching it's highest listening audience across streaming platforms, purchases, shows, and artists signed to the label. Growth looks promising for the label, and for Seventh Day Slumber as well.
