It’s official: Kari Jobe is getting married.
In an announcement that devastated single Christian guys everywhere, the 33-year-old worship leader/songwriter/recording artist posted to various social media a photo of her husband-to-be, Cody Carnes, down on one knee on the beach.
“I said YES!!!!” Jobe posted. “Thankful to be swept off my feet by my amazing Cody Carnes. You won my heart and I gladly give it to you. You're my miracle. Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you. You are strong, courageous, bold, romantic, Godly, sweet… and my man. I love you. I'M ENGAGED!!!!”
She later posted another image, with a look at her ring, writing, “Still can’t believe I’m engaged!”
Fans have responded to the announcement with overwhelming support. “I felt extremely celebrated,” Jobe wrote. “Thank you for all the love to me and Cody Carnes.”
Jobe’s groom-to-be is fellow worship artist Cody Carnes, who was featured on Track 10 of Jobe’s latest album, Majestic, in the song “Holy Spirit.” Carnes also has writing credits on the song “Let the Heavens Open.”
Carnes currently serves as worship pastor of Gateway Church in Prescott, Ariz., and Jobe is on staff at Gateway’s main campus in Texas.
