On March 24, Melissa Desiree Vasquez, wife of Rene Vasquez (aka Peace 586) found rest from her 14-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
Rene has always been vocal on
Twitter about his wife's strength through her battle and the highs and lows related to the disease. He's been sharing final words honoring his wife both there and on Instagram, sharing "No more pain, no more suffering, no more tears, no more lying in that bed! I will see you in Glory one day... make room for me and be the first to greet me when I come to join you. I will love and share your story forever."
A GoFundMe campaign has been initiated with a goal of $15,000 to assist with the funeral services. In the first two days, nearly $1,300 has already been raised. You can view the campaign
here. Readers are encouraged to donate and share to help reach the goal.
One of the founding members of Tunnel Rats, hip-hop producer and rapper Peace 586 found success in Christian Hip-Hop from the early 90s through today. Within the last two years, Rene has released four projects, beginning with a tribute project devoted to his wife back in 2016 titled The Honey Bee, with proceeds going directly to assist the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name.
