Wavorly lead singer Dave Stovall has officially launched his solo project with a crowdsourcing campaign. He has set the goal of delivering a new single in 2018.
"Our beloved singer is finally getting his solo project off the ground, and we couldn't be more excited to help spread the word," Wavorly shared in the social media post.
The single, which is already recorded and ready to be mixed and mastered, is something Dave Stovall is passionate about sharing. "I have a story of pain, heartbreak, and finally of God's redemption that I want to share with you," said Stovall. He continued to say that "anything you can give will be super helpful. Whoever donates will receive a free download of the song once it has been mixed and mastered."
According to the
GoFundMe project page, the initial fundraising goal of $500 will allow Stovall to mix and master the single, with a stretch goal of up to $2,500 for a 5-song EP.
Dave Stovall is best known as the lead singer for Wavorly, an alternative rock band named after a haunted mansion in West Point, Mississippi. In 2015, Stovall joined
Audio Adrenaline for a brief stint with the band on bass guitars and vocals. In 2017, Wavorly regrouped for a 2-song EP,
Movement One.
According to the band, the solo effort definitely does not signal the end of Wavorly's resurgence. "You should totally support him, because it's basically a win-win for you; not only are you getting new Wavorly music from time to time, but you're getting some incredible new tunes showcasing another side of Dave's creative soul!"
